The NEW Tug Z-Tech Design
Designed by the leading international tug designer, Robert Allan, Ltd. the Z-Tech combines the best operational characteristics of tractor style tugs and ASD tugs. With 6300 hp there is virtually indentical bollard pull and speed performance ahead and astern.

The stern is more rounded and has a strong sheer, to ensure good sea-keeping and sea-going capabilities when operating in tractor mode. The deep underwater hull provides excellent stability and has been proven in other Robert Allan, Ltd. designs.

Unlike previous tug designs the wheelhouse is more centrally located for greater visibility and clearance with the ship in tow and the main working forward deck is larger and flatter than usual for increased crew safety working forward.

The Z-Techs have arrived in Houston and are the only tug design of its kind in the western hemisphere.

The Z-Tech concept was originally designed for and is being promoted by PSA Marine of Singapore.
